T-Mobile won  YAAY

T-Mobile /Best Buy /Samsung Gravity? CLAM SHELL BREAKUP

Sometimes my own level of genius and sales ability ( OK, OK We all have different standards  of what we call genius) surprises even me. I think.

My friend, Sam, who has  run multimillion dollar companies  all the world -was running around with a clam shell cell phone that  was falling apart- literally- and would only ring about 50% of the time and drop calls constantly.

He sounded like he calling from  the bottom of a mineshaft.

However, Sam  was in what I  call a committed relationship to the stupid thing- probably because he had a comfort level with it.

Translation: it kinda – sorta met his needs. It was only when he missed an important  business meeting, because his  cell phone did not ring , that he was willing to discuss a new phone. I told him he was CRAZZZY if he did not get a new phone. Dragged him over to the Mall.

I took him   to www. Best Buy.com and told him about T-Mobile- an excellent carrier- and to see what carrier was most competitive. T-Mobile won.

Now the phone;  Sam absolutely swore he didn’t need the Internet.  I told them he did and that for  a guy who was selling thousands of computers twenty years ago he needed to have the Internet and be in the 21st century for sure.

He sighed and said OK  He couldn’t have gotten better service from Leif Babooram – the general manager. Leif has the patience of a saint- and WOW- he really knows the cell phone business. Putting up impatient – frustrated with people like me all day- one really has to have the professionalism to handle the pressure

Sam  settled on the Samsung Gravity T- with Internet. A great phone-and

I told Sam that once he and Gravity really spent some time- he would wonder how he ever did without internet on the phone. I would never have believed it- but it’s true.

First questions- How do answer the phone when it rings? Leif showed him.

How do I make calls? Leif showed him.

Sam said- “I guess I have to read the book”: it’s a learning curve”.

That’s the real  challenge- Sam is a very sophisticated – impatient –busy

person- nobody wants to “read the manual”

We all hope to “wing it-“

I’m the WORST.

Well- Sam and Gravity are off into the cellular sunset-

I ‘m sure will he will keep me posted.

WHOA – is it TWEETS next??
